With the West Coast and Lake Tekapo a short flight away Air Safaris offers you the opportunity to fly over the main divide of the Southern Alps for a ½ day excursion. This scenic flight gives you the opportunity to ‘see what is on the other side’ without the necessity to complete the 6+ hour drive between Lake Tekapo and Franz Josef.

On the West Coast at Franz Josef you have a range of activities to choose from including nature tours, heli-hiking, White Heron sanctuary tours, Jade carving, four wheeler adventures, glacier walks, and a soak in the hot pools.

On the Eastern side at Lake Tekapo you can enjoy the hot pools, go ski-ing, ice skating, curling (winter only), there are also great walking and mountain biking activities available.

Trans-divide trips are operated as an ‘on demand’ basis.

The price for a return Trans-Divide ½ day trip is $795 per person (minimum number of 4 passengers).

We can also offer one-way flights for those interested in staying and continuing their journey from the ‘other side’. The price for a one-way flight is $570 per adult and $460 per child (minimum number of 4 adult passengers, baggage restrictions apply).
