On the West Coast, at Franz Josef, you have a range of activities to choose from, including nature tours, heli-hiking, White Heron Sanctuary tours, jade carving, four-wheeler adventures, glacier walks, and a soak in the hot pools.
On the eastern side, at Lake Tekapo, you can go skiing, ice skating or curling (winter only), explore the International Dark Sky Reserve, relax in the hot pools, and enjoy the many walking and mountain biking trails available. Visit the iconic Church of the Good Shepherd, or simply immerse yourself in the peaceful alpine surroundings.
